Help for the Homeless

This annual drive occurs during Lent each year and is a collaborative effort amongst the Coalition, United Way and the Family Radio Station. The event collects cleaning and hygiene products to be used by local shelters, transitional housing programs and support services programs to help those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The committee works to identify businesses, churches and agencies willing to be collection sites, to place boxes for the collection, to pick up the collection boxes and to sort and distribute the product. The committee is responsible for the overall organization and structure of the drive and sorting.

The committee consists of members from the agencies receiving products from the collection drive. Meetings begin in the fall and occur monthly through the sorting day and a wrap up meeting.

The 2016 collection dates will be February 19th to March 12th. Donation picks will be March 13-March 15th with sorting of items and distribution on March 16, 2017 at Green Bay Community Church to local agencies.
